The three gigs I had last week were quite good compliments to each other. Wednesday @ Nude was a pretty chilled out affair, and Thursday's live set @ Kuudes Linja was the best of the bunch, it was really nice to get the chance to play our live material at a bigger venue than usual (thanks Samu!), and everyone I talked to seemed to like our set, so perhaps we'll get more chances to play in the future. Friday's Halloween Horror Bash @ Playground was absolutely packed, I think they broke the previous attendance record. We played for about 3,5h with Upi (quite the sight in our Joker + Pikachu outfits, maybe some pictures later on), starting of with minimal and techno, then dropping some dubstep and finishing of with some drum and bass. I particularly enjoyed playing the dnb, and managed to squeeze in some rougher tunes as well.
Three tunes for you today, the first being the reason for this post title. This Dolphins remix of Broombeck's The Clapper is a really funky and grooving tune (perfect summer tune as well). The second track is one of my own, entitled The Howl, quite a bit on the techno side. The third and final tune is Subfocus' Triple X, a track I had heard I while back, but had no idea who's track it was. Now I know.

Whoa, it sure is gonna be a busy week gigwise. I'll be playing a short tech house set at INDWT @ Nude this Wednesday, then a live set at Robotnik @ Kuudes Linja on Thursday (my set starts at 22:00, be there!) and finally a b2b all-nighter with Upi at Emperatron's Horror Bash @ Playground on Friday (of course Upi is also playing at both of the aforemention events as well :P).
Looking forward to Friday's gig, gonna have the opportunity to play a longer set and mix up styles and genres a bit. We're planning to play a bit of techno and tech house stuff, some dubstep and we're even gonna be rinsing some proper drum and bass. The main room will be delivering the usual wobble and fidget sounds of Emperatron. The place will most likely get totally packed. I'm also working on a costume for Friday, since after all, it is Halloween (free entry all night long with a costume btw).

Whoa, busy busy week for me, with the DJ course going down and all. I've been really pleased with the two sessions we've had so far, everything's running along smoothly.
On another note, the Doppler Duo is taking over INDWT at Nude tonight (although you could argue that it's technically not a takeover since Upi is one of INDWT's resident DJ's). However, the sound is gonna be totally different from the Doppler sound you're used to hearing at Loop. I will mostly be playing some sort of indie electro, and possibly some drum & bass to end my set.
So here's a few tracks to showcase the sound. The first one is a preview of a track I've been working on for a live set we're going to perform in about one month, so bare with me since it's quite unfinished. The second one is a track by Alan Braxe and Kris Menace called Lumberjack, absolute smasher.

The opening night of our new club, Doppler, at Bar Loop went really well. Lots of more people than I had hoped for, and people actually stayed quite long considering most of them had to go to work in the morning. A big thanks to all of you who made the effort to come, hopefully you liked the music. A special thanks also go out to our guests of the evening, Teppo and Metsis aka Möjitö Brös.
My computer managed to crash at one point, my MIDI controller stopped responding and I got the dreaded "beachball of death" (probably familiar to all you OS X users). Luckily nobody else noticed, since I was able to mix in a track I happened to have with me on CD (how lucky!). So I'd thought I'd share the track that saved the night, a new track that I've produced called Purple Harlequin.
